Dr Qingsong Tao received his MD and PhD at Nanjing University and then came to Affiliated Zhongda Hospital, Southeast Unicersity in 2007 for surgical residency and fellowship training. In 2012, He went to Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School for post-doc research training. His clinical areas of expertise are in colorectal surgery. His particular areas of interest are in minimally-invasive approaches to the treatment of Crohns patients, as well as the ileo-anal J-pouch operation for patients with colitis. In addition to his clinical practice, he is doing some research program focused on crohn's disease. He's got funding from the Natural Science Foundation of China and other sources and has made some understanding of inflammation interacts with the chronic intestinal fibrosis in Crohn's disease. He and his colleagues have also identified several novel treatment strategies designed to prevent and/or treat the surgical complications of Crohn's disease.
