We focus on responsive molecular materials, including:

(1) Structural phase transition systems: The topic include phase transition compounds, dielectric transition compounds and ferroelectrics. We try to construct new systems, to understand the correlations among the structure, phase transition and properties, and to find out rules to guide the syntheses and properties optimization of the materials.

(2) Responsive molecules: Inspired by biosystems, we try to construct model systems, to study the responses of molecules to external stimuli (light, heat, force, chemicals, etc) and their dynamic behaviors during the responses, and to find new phenomena and mechanisms.
